E-Safety

The internet is a wonderful source of information and it can help you with your education. It can also be used to communicate with friends and family, for example, when sending an email.

However, if the internet isn't used properly, it can cause harm to yourself and to others. At Hogarth, we know how important it is that children are safe online and we work with our parents to ensure that this can happen at home. Recently, we had an e-safety event delivered by The Two John's for staff, pupils and parents to learn some tips on how to keep safe in the virtual world.

Tips for staying safe online:

  • Remember to ask for help from a teacher or another adult at school, if you are having any problems online. Don't be scared to ask for help.
  • Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.
  • Keep your private information to yourself (name, age etc) and never share this information with somebody you only know online.
  • Know how to use the CEOP Button. If you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you, report it to the CEOP.
  • If you or anyone you know is worried about Child Exploitation, Online Protection or anything related to Internet safety please click the link to the CEOP.
