Hatching Chicks

We received a hatchery full of 10 fertilised eggs. After just a few hours cracks started to appear on 4 eggs. Then later in the afternoon 1 chick managed to break out of its shell. They were then left alone until our Site Manager opened the school at 6:00 am on Thursday. The other 9 chicks had hatched giving us a full complement of birds. 2 were moved to the viewing box as they had already dried out, the other 8 were left to dry. After a check-up at 9:45 pm that evening 6 more chicks were dry and transferred to the viewing box. At 6:00 am the remaining 2 chicks were transferred ready for our children to view.
