At Hogarth Primary School our intent is to provide a rich and varied curriculum which has its roots based on our school values of confident learners. Our aim is to deliver an ambitious, aspirational creative curriculum which is well planned and meets the needs of ALL our pupils. This will enable our children to make connections between all their learning and also still meet the individual requirements as outlined in the National Curriculum.
At Hogarth Primary School we aim to foster a life–long love of learning, through adopting a highly practical and cross–curricular approach. Our Creative Curriculum encompasses all core and foundation subjects and enables us to provide a high standard of teaching and learning. We believe that this is the key to motivation in learning and the growth of pupils’ self-esteem and enjoyment. Our teachers have good subject knowledge and will be supported to maintain and improve knowledge through training opportunities, observing best practice and undertaking relevant research. The teaching of key vocabulary is a primary feature in all of the creative curriculum units.
In order to keep our school community fully informed, each class also sends out a curriculum map each term. This helps children and parents to learn around the curriculum and support the development and understanding of their child. The curriculum maps are also published termly within the Enrichment / Class Page section of our website.
At Hogarth Primary School our Creative Curriculum aims to deliver a twenty first century education that will equip the children with the skills required to be independent and responsible citizens. The impact of our creative curriculum is evaluated throughout the year through monitoring of teaching and pupil voice. All of our children achieve well by developing knowledge and skills on their journey through school.
