We have had a fun first week back from remote learning and it has been lovely seeing everyone again!
Weekly homework will be accessed through the DB Primary platform (hogarth.essex.dbprimary.com) on using the username and password that was during remote learning. It is important that children keep their username and password safe and that they do not share it with friends or family. I will upload work every Monday to the homework tab, feel free to enjoy the games and activities that are also on DB. If you require a paper copy of the homework please let me know. Reading books will still be sent home weekly along with your reading record.
As part of the DB Primary platform, your child will be able to use a forum to keep in touch with their friends and teachers. Please discuss the safety implications of this with your child:
Homework and reading books will be given out on a Monday and must be returned to school on a Friday so that we can change them. Unfortunately, we are unable to change reading books on any other day. Please read with your child as often as possible at home and write a comment in their reading diary. Daily practise with an adult can increase your child's enthusiasm and help them to progress even further!
Please practise your weekly spellings, doing so will help your child with their sight recognition of words. There is not an expectation to complete all of the spellings. Homework should be enjoyed and as long as you practise some of the spellings each night this will help with your child's development. As a class we are beginning to write using cursive letters, we have only used a few of these letters so far. When pracitising your spellings do not worry about using joint up cursive letters, you could 'have a go' using the letters that we have used in our handwriting if you want to!
