Welcome back to school! I hope that you have all had a wonderful and restful Easter holiday. I have uploaded our summer term topic web and newsletter for you to view. This term, our topic is Sun, Sand and Sea and we will be learning about the seaside. We have planned lots of fun and exciting learning experiences for the children so please look back at our webpage regularly to see the wonderful things that we are doing in class! As always, please do come and speak to me if you have any questions.
We will be providing homework for our pupils through the DB Primary platform. This can be accessed at: hogarth.essex.dbprimary.com
Homework will be set on a Monday and must be completed by a Friday. If you require a paper copy of any homework, please ensure to speak to Mrs Peacock.
The children will be required to use the username and password that was issued to them as part of their home learning pack at the end of the autumn term.
It is important that children keep their username and password safe and that they do not share it with friends or family.
Once your child has logged into DB Primary they will be able to see the homepage for their class and any homework tasks that have been set for them.
As part of the DB Primary platform, your child will be able to use a forum to keep in touch with their friends and teachers. Please discuss the safety implications of this with your child:
We hope that having access to DB Primary will be a helpful way in which you can support your child at home and that children can begin to take responsibility for furthering their own learning independently.
We have PE, taught by a specialist PE teacher, every Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure that your child has the correct, labelled PE kit in school. We will send this home to be washed during the October half term. Children are not permitted to wear earrings for PE.
Homework and reading books will be given out on a Monday and must be returned to school on a Friday so that we can change them. Unfortunately, we are unable to change reading books on any other day. Please read with your child as often as possible at home and write a comment in their reading diary. Daily practice with an adult can increase their enthusiasm and help them to progress even further.
