Welcome toHogarth Primary SchoolCONFIDENT

Year 3H- Mrs Weston

Summer Term W/C 12th April 2021

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and the children were able to rest their brains ready for a new, exciting Summer Term of learning. As before I will update this page every Friday with photos of the children's learning throughout the week so please continue to have a look.

Please note that our P.E sessions have changed slightly, they will now be on Mondays and Wednesday so please come fully equipped and remove all earrings. Boys and girls with long hair will need to tie it back, so bring in a bobble.

We will be providing weekly homework for our pupils through the DB Primary platform from now on. I will upload their work every Monday ready for their spelling and times table test on a Friday. This can be accessed at: If you still require a paper copy of the homework I will need to know on the Monday of each week.

The children will be required to use the username and password that was issued to them as part of their home learning pack at the end of the autumn term.

It is important that children keep their username and password safe and that they do not share it with friends or family.

Once your child has logged into DB Primary they will be able to see the homepage and the homework tab that I have set for them. I will also upload any extra intervention work that I feel your child may benefit from completing so please do check.

As part of the DB Primary platform, your child will be able to use a forum to keep in touch with their friends and teachers. Please discuss the safety implications of this with your child:

  • Anything your child puts onto DB Primary can be seen by members of staff.
  • Sensible behaviour must be used when accessing the blogs or forums
  • Make sure that any pictures you upload (profile picture, or pictures in posts) are suitable for a school audience
  • Be kind when leaving comments on other’s work
  • DBPrimary has an automatic profanity filter which is designed to block any inappropriate language, which also includes ambiguous words such as ‘hate’.
  • All messages can be reviewed, checked and traced to the sender.
  • Teachers can block the message sending option if they think it necessary.
  • Any inappropriate content can be reported to staff at the school by clicking on the whistle icon.

We hope that having access to DB Primary will be a helpful way in which you can support your child at home and that children can begin to take responsibility for furthering their own learning independently.

W/E 26th March 2021. The children have enjoyed lots of practical lessons this week and learning through play. Team athletics during PE, learning time through practical games and enjoying Hot Cross Buns after listening to the Easter story in RE. Forest School was great fun as they explored the forest and decorated an Easter Egg with natural materials.

3H Rap

Mrs Herbert has been busy teaching the children how to create their own rap linked to lockdown!

Please have a browse at our class timetable, topic web and newsletter.

We have P.E. every Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has the correct, labelled kit in school and earrings are removed.

Homework will be set on DB Primary on a Monday unless a paper copy is required but please keep this at home. The children will be tested on their spellings and times tables every Friday.

Reading books and diaries will be given out on a Monday and need to stay at home all week. Please bring them both back on a Friday. Please read with your child as often as possible at home and write a comment in their reading diary. Daily practice with an adult can increase their enthusiasm and help them progress even further.
