Ofsted

1 September 2025

It is with great pride and delight that I share with you the result of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 1 and 2 July 2025. Although the report could not be released until the start of this Autumn term, I am thrilled to finally be able to tell you the outcome.

In just a little over two years since Hogarth Primary School joined the Discovery Educational Trust, we have seen remarkable improvements. This transformation is the result of the hard work and dedication of our staff, the support and commitment of you as parents and carers, the expertise of the DET team, the Local School Committee and – most importantly – the enthusiasm and determination of our wonderful children.

Many of you will remember that the last Ofsted inspection judged the school as “requiring improvement.” Today, I am delighted to tell you that the inspectors’ view was entirely different. They judged our school as ‘Good’ in all areas, and in the area of Personal Development – the richness of what we offer our children – we have been recognised as ‘Outstanding.’

To see how our school has grown, improved, and changed in such a short time is a true credit to our whole school community, and it is wonderful that this has been recognised by an external team of inspectors.

The areas for development highlighted by Ofsted were already identified in our Action Plan for this academic year. This reaffirms that our self-evaluation is accurate and that we are focusing on the right priorities. With the strong and committed team we have in place, I am confident we will continue to move forward swiftly and effectively.

I hope you enjoy reading the full report and feel as proud as we do of all that Hogarth Primary School has achieved. This success belongs to every one of us – staff, children, parents, and our wider community.

Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to an even brighter future ahead.
